Rooted in the tradition of supporting Africa’s creative industry, Ideal casting has been connecting talent across film, television, theatre, social media, and beyond with leading casting professionals, brands, and project creators since 2017.
The Origin of Ideal
As a child, Casting Director and Producer Sharon Gayita dreamed of becoming an actor ,but in Uganda, there were no agencies representing performers, no clear paths into the film industry, and few opportunities to turn passion into profession.
That gap stayed with her.
Years later, after working in most departments of film, in 2017, driven by a desire to create what she once needed, Sharon founded Ideal a casting agency built to discover, nurture, and connect African talent with meaningful opportunities across film, television, commercials, and theatre.
What started as a small directory of actors has grown into a full-service casting and production management company, combining professional representation with world-class production management.
Ideal was born from the belief that African stories deserve structure, visibility, and excellence. That belief has led to the development of a structured recruitment system, an online talent database, and a reputation for delivering both performance and production with integrity.
Today, Ideal Casting bridges the gap between performers, producers, and brands and plays a vital role in building the future of African storytelling.
